Custom Bike Saddle: The Key to Comfortable and Healthy Riding

Custom Bike Saddle: The Key to Comfortable and Healthy Riding

Every cyclist knows that a comfortable and well-fitting saddle is crucial for an enjoyable ride. But have you ever considered that choosing the right one can alleviate or even completely prevent health issues related to cycling? We're talking about problems like butt pain, groin discomfort, coccyx woes, and overall discomfort in the sitting area during your cycling adventures.

Improving comfort and reducing riding-related troubles were the two main reasons behind our decision to embark on the development of a custom cycling saddle. Only a saddle that perfectly adapts to your individual needs can minimize the risk of short-term and long-term health complications.

The saddle is one of the three main contact points between the rider and the bike. It's the area where the cyclist and the bike come into the largest contact, making its proper choice crucial. Joyseat is designed to provide comfort and support, no matter how long you spend on your bike. In a nutshell, Joyseat doesn't push where it shouldn't, but it supports where you need it. This reduces pressure on soft tissues, minimizes the risk of back pain, and prevents the formation of blisters, chafing, or pressure sores in the crotch area. While Joyseat won't climb that hill for you, it will allow you to enjoy your ride without any unpleasant experiences and let you focus on performance and two-wheeled adventure.

Relief and Proper Blood Circulation

Comfort on a bike is a crucial factor for every rider. Traditional foam bike saddles are a common choice for most cyclists, but they come with significant drawbacks. Their padding is typically made from a single piece of material, which has the same properties throughout the entire surface. In practice, this can mean that some parts are too soft and fail to provide adequate support, while others may be too firm and uncomfortable. This ultimately limits both comfort and cycling performance.

When you feel good on your bike and don't constantly shift around every five minutes, you can fully concentrate on your ride. Achieving better results, whether you're a recreational cyclist or a competitive rider, becomes more attainable with the innovative and unique design of Joyseat.

The cutout in the saddle, the "no pressure zone", provides relief for soft tissues, resulting in improved blood flow in the pelvic area. Simultaneously, it reduces the risk of swelling, numbness, and the unpleasant tingling sensation in your legs while cycling. Furthermore, the use of this opening during production requires less material, helping us conserve natural resources and making the saddle lighter.

Unique Saddle Stiffness Technology: Individual Adjustments for Personal Comfort

Our innovative technology allows us to produce different parts of the saddle with varying levels of stiffness. Each section requires a different level of support and firmness. Joyseat is designed to be the softest at the front, which minimizes pressure on soft tissues and provides maximum comfort. In the middle section, it becomes firmer, and the sturdiest support is below the sit bones. This ensures optimal pressure distribution and support throughout your ride.

One advantage of our 3D printing method is that we can create smooth transitions between the different zones. This means you won't feel any uncomfortable edges or shifts between the soft and firm parts of the saddle. Instead, you'll experience the sensation of sitting on one continuous surface that perfectly aligns with your sit bones, ensuring comfort on every centimeter. It's Possible Without Pain

Back pain, knee discomfort, chafed buttcheeks, blisters, or tingling legs... Do these problems plague you on every pedal stroke? You're not alone. "After completing a 400 km race on Joyseat for the first time, I kept waiting for the usual pressure and subsequent burning sensation on my buttocks. But surprisingly, there was none of that; it was like my butt wasn't even there. I couldn't believe it." –– Tomáš Novotný, ultra-cyclist

The "Ultra Custom" Saddle aka We Can Do It Asymmetrical

Issues like back pain or knee discomfort, chafing, or discomfort have troubled many of us at some point. However, some people face more significant problems. The "Ultra Custom" saddle was developed based on the requirements of cyclists dealing with imbalances and asymmetric loads on the saddle. This can be caused by various factors, such as anatomical differences, imperfect bike fitting, or the remnants of past injuries. Dismissing these problems can expose you to discomfort, pain, and potential long-term health issues. These problems may have complex origins and solutions. We inform our customers about this and recommend consulting with specialists. Based on recommendations from your doctor, physiotherapist, or bike fitter, we can create an asymmetric Joyseat that perfectly adapts to your body. How does it work?

Our precise 3D printing method allows us to design a product that is, for example, 20-30% softer on one side than the other, compensating for the load placed on that side. To manufacture such a saddle, we ideally need data from bike fitting, which is a process that analyzes the biomechanical properties of the cyclist and their riding style. From this data, we can determine the pressure exerted on both sides. After gathering the measurement data, we conduct a consultation with the cyclist to discuss details and assess their feelings during rides. Gathering as much information as possible is crucial to design a saddle that precisely suits your needs. However, we want to emphasize that Joyseat is not a medical device. Its purpose is not to cure you but to relieve pressure on the sit bones, allowing for a carefree and painless bike ride.
